Stephen Bennett is the company owner and principal resource of Aria Transport Services®. He has over 34 years of professional experience in technology businesses, including 23 years in US and global urban transport Intelligent Transport System (ITS) markets. He has proven, successful experience in Business Development, Sales and Marketing, Capture Management and Proposals, Contracts and Negotiations, Pricing, Program/Project Management, Manufacturing and Engineering. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College, has worked as a thermodynamics engineer in the aerospace industry and has attended Harvard Business School's "Driving Performance Through Talent Management" program.
Stephen has been directly involved in the development of urban transport ITS systems and best practices as well as deployment of large scale ITS projects at the largest urban transport bus systems in the USA. These systems include New York City Transit, Chicago Transit Authority, New Jersey Transit, Washington DC and many others. Over recent years, he has had the opportunity to travel to many countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Central/South America and has reviewed ITS projects being considered for deployment. He has been a part of multiple, successful ITS pilot projects in Asia and South America. Recent projects include overseeing the deployment of a mobile ticketing system as well as the integration of a car service (TNC) app into a transit system for a "First and Last Mile" mobility solution.
He has participated in industry conferences and expos including APTA, UITP, ITS World Congress, IT TRANS, RTIG and EuroBus. He has been recognized as an ITS industry expert and has served as a panel speaker and moderator at multiple industry events.
